Actor Brian Cox has postponed his upcoming tour after confessing he is "too tired" and busy to complete it. The Succession star, 79, was set to tour the UK starting from October 1st at the Royal and Derngate Theatre in Northampton with his one-man show It's All About Me!, but now all dates have been axed.

Though he is hopeful the tour will simply be postponed until 2026, no official confirmation has been given, and ticket holders have been told the box office will be in touch with them. Brian has insisted October is "just too soon" for his 18-date series of gigs, explaining: "I just thought, 'I'll do it some other time'. [October is] just too soon."

He added to the BBC: "I'm tired. It's in October and the first film I've directed is going to the Toronto Film Festival. I'll do it sometime, but I just thought it was too soon. I've had a heavy year. It's been very busy and I just thought, 'I can't be doing it'."

It comes after he admitted in a new interview with The Telegraph: "When you get to a certain age, you realise that there are values that are not being honoured, and you've got to start defending those values, and if it means you get aggressive about it then you get aggressive about it.

"People have been sniping at me for years. I don't give a sh** about that. I really don't. I'm too old, too tired and too f***ing talented for any of that c**p."

The Golden Globe winner has been busy in a play at the Edinburgh Festival, and is set to promote his new film, Glenrothan, next month.

That means his tour dates in locations including York, Belfast, Ipswich and Liverpool have all been postponed - with no new dates as yet confirmed.

Brian recently made an end of life confession, explaining he thinks about death "all the time". He told The Guardian: "I have a fantasy every night about how I'm going to die. I don't think about it in a depressing way. I just think of all the possible scenarios."

His favourite option was "going without fuss, wrapped up in bed with a cup of tea, maybe with the telly on."
