Severe delays have been reported on the M4 this morning. A multi-vehicle crash took place on the M4 between junctions 23 and 22 at around 7:50am involving three cars and a motorcycle in Monmouthshire, Wales. Minor injuries have been reported and the incident is still ongoing. Emergency services are currently at the scene.
Two lanes were closed between J23 (Monmouthshire) and J22 (Redwick) but have now been reopened. Traffic was at a standstill in the affected area and queues of up to 11 miles formed following the incident.
Traffic Wales has warned of "severe" delays, urging motorists to seek alternative routes where possible. AA Traffic Planner previously reported delays of up to two and a half hours.
A spokesperson from Gwent Police said: "We received a report of a road traffic collision on the M4 between junctions 23 and 22 at around 7.50am on Wednesday 6 August. Officers and paramedics are currently at the scene. The collision involved three cars and a motorcycle. Minor injuries have been reported, and the incident is ongoing."
