After a sun-soaked summer with plenty of hot days, garden lawns could be left parched and looking barren. However, a grass seed available on Amazon has been recommended by shoppers for its ability to promote "thick, lush grass." Shoppers have even said the grass seed gets to work on shady patches.
The GroundMaster grass seed comes in various bag sizes and can rejuvenate lawns year-round, reports the Mirror. It currently has a customer satisfaction rating of 4.2 stars out of a possible five, with one shopper review saying: "Good quality seeds, grass grew quickly and came through lush and deep green colour."
Shoppers can choose from multiple bag sizes, depending on the size of their garden. The cheapest size is a 1kg bag, which costs £10.99. The largest option is a 25kg bag, which costs £124.99.
According to GroundMaster, the grass seeds provide coverage up to 60 square metres per kg. They are also pet-safe. One customer said they witnessed results in as little as "10 days" after following the instructions.
They explained: "I sprinkled a thin layer of fine soil over the top to hide the seed from the birds that would have eaten it all.
"I kept the seed watered - never letting it dry out, then about 10 days later, the seed just burst into life. I've now got a nice green lawn. This is the second 5KG bag of this I've bought, and I'd buy it if I needed any more."
Another Amazon customer said the seed was "fast-growing" and produced "lovely, strong-looking grass". They added: "Approximately three weeks after planting and watering the seeds well, the grass started to come through, and it's looking really good."
However, one shopper noted the seed had "grown well in most areas." However, they added: " There were patches in other areas where it has struggled to grow. It is not quite living up to expectations."
Elsewhere, B&Q stocks Verve Universal Grass seeds priced at £10 for a 1.5kg box. The product has excellent reviews, with one customer commenting: "Bought before and renewed lawn resulting in thick, lush grass even in shady areas."
Specialised shade-resistant grass seed is also available, such as the Gro-Sure Shady Lawn Seed, which retails at £9 from Wickes. Its blue coating claims to deter birds whilst providing nourishment to the seed.
