Sonepur: A possible disaster was averted after a truck carrying LPG cylinders caught fire on Subalaya-Birmaharajpur road in Odisha’s Sonepur district.
As per sources, the incident took place near Hariharjor bridge late on Saturday night when the cylinder-laden truck reportedly caught fire following some malfunction in the engine.
While no injury to anyone was reported, vehicular movement on the route was disrupted temporarily following the incident.
On being informed, fire service personnel from Birmaharajpur responded swiftly and three fire tenders were rushed to the scene. The fire was successfully extinguished before it could spread to other portions of the vehicle, preventing a major disaster.
