Let us know what this recipe is.

To make this, you will need only 5 ingredients and you will easily find all five of them in your kitchen.

Black pepper

Black pepper has expectorant properties. This means it thins and loosens the phlegm that builds up inside you, clearing it and making it easier to expel. This clears your airways, removes infection, and helps reduce your cough.

Black salt

Kala Namak benefits all types of respiratory problems. Kala Namak also soothes dry coughs and provides significant relief from coughs with phlegm. It basically relaxes your airways. Because often, when you have a chronic cough, your airways become constricted and tight. Kala Namak relieves this tightness and relaxes them, making breathing easier and reducing your cough.

Celery

Celery is also a great thing to relieve your chest congestion and cure cough and cold.

Green cardamom

Cardamom has properties that can help relieve throat infections. It soothes your chest and clears mucus buildup, making it a great relief for coughs and colds.

Ginger

Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that can help relieve chest congestion, clear infections, and reduce inflammation in the lungs.

How to make

To make this recipe, you need 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder, 1/4 teaspoon black salt, 1 teaspoon celery, 4 teaspoons grated ginger and 4-5 small cardamoms. Take out the middle part of this cardamom and keep it aside, you do not have to use its peel.

Now mix all these ingredients thoroughly and then take 5 tablespoons of jaggery. Melt this jaggery in a non-stick pan with a little water. Keep the pan on low heat so that the jaggery doesn't burn. Now, add all the ingredients you just mixed together. After adding, cook it for just one to two minutes. After this, store it in a glass jar.

How to consume

You should take half a teaspoon of this decoction in the morning, half a teaspoon at bedtime, and you can take it at any time in the morning. However, you should take it at bedtime at night, and whenever you do, always use it with warm water.

What to keep in mind
  • After taking this, you should not consume any cold or sour thing and also avoid smoking etc.
  • You can also take this if you have a severe cough. Your cough should begin to subside within 10 minutes of taking it.
  • If you have chronic cough, then use it for 3-7 days.
  • If the cough is very old then you can take it for more than 7 days, 21 days or even for 1 month.
  • It should not be given to children under 10 years of age. If you wish to give it to children between 10 and 16 years of age, you can reduce the dosage. Instead of half a teaspoon, give children 1/4 teaspoon.
