Tata Motors is gearing up for an aggressive product expansion, planning to introduce approximately 30 new models over the next two years. These include all-new vehicles, facelifted versions, and extensively updated editions, aimed at strengthening its foothold across all market segments in India. Among these, seven will be entirely new nameplates, including the revival of the legendary Tata Sierra, the Avinya electric range, and a new compact SUV named Scarlett.
The company is focusing heavily on the small SUV segment—the largest and fastest-growing in India—with several major launches expected to bolster Tata’s market share.
One of the biggest upcoming models is the new Tata Nexon, built on an updated X1 platform for better ride quality and handling. It will feature a refreshed, aerodynamic design, premium interiors, a new infotainment system, and possibly Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) including lane assist and automatic braking. The Nexon’s launch is anticipated around 2026.
The Tata Punch compact SUV is also set for a mid-life update, drawing design inspiration from the Punch EV model. This facelift will bring sleek headlights, a refreshed grille, and a more modern interior. The petrol variant’s updated version is expected by the end of 2025, while the Punch EV will arrive in 2026.
Another notable upcoming model is the Tata Scarlett—a compact SUV designed with a boxy silhouette, tall pillars, and spacious interiors, inspired by the Tata Sierra. Positioned for high-volume sales, the Scarlett aims to capture a significant share in the growing SUV market and could be a game-changer for the brand.
This aggressive launch strategy by Tata Motors signals tough competition ahead for Hyundai and Maruti, as Tata looks to expand its presence with diverse offerings catering to a wide spectrum of customers.
