Ruben Amorim has confirmed that new signing Senne Lammens WON'T start the Manchester derby, instead preferring Altay Bayindir. Lammens, 23, was signed from Royal Antwerp on transfer deadline day, with Manchester United agreeing to pay an initial £18.2million plus £3.5m in add-ons for the Belgian goalkeeper.
A debate quickly ensued regarding who'd get the nod in goal when United take on bitter rivals Manchester City at the Etihad on Sunday. But Amorim has cleared up the speculation more than 48 hours before kick-off.
"Different league, different country, different ball," the Red Devils boss said at his press conference when asked if Lammens would start. "They will fight for the position. It is clear.

"Altay will start. He's ready to play, he will play."
Bayindir, who started all three of United's opening Premier League games before the international break, didn't make an appearance for Turkey last week, watching from the bench as his nation conceded eight goals in two games. The former Fenerbahce shot-stopper joined United in September 2024 for £4.3m.
