Indigenous apps have been gaining popularity recently. A navigation app called Maples is gaining popularity. It's an alternative to Google Maps and offers many great features.

Zoho's Arattai chatting app and Ulaa browser have become very popular in recent days. Now, another Made in India app has made headlines. Recently, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav was seen using the Mappls navigation app, developed in India. He urged Indian users to use it. This app, which rivals Google Maps, offers many features, including voice-guided directions and hyper-local search.
3D Junction View Makes Driving Easier
MapmyIndia developed the Mappls app. The company claims that it offers users a localized, secure, and user-friendly mapping experience. It includes a feature called 3D Junction View, which provides clear information about overbridges and underpasses. This prevents confusion while driving. Google Maps lacks this feature, and this often confuses users. Additionally, Mappls also offers indoor navigation, making it easier to navigate large buildings and complexes. This feature is not available on many platforms, including Google Maps.

Data is stored in India only.
Mappls users' data is stored in India. Unlike Google and Apple Maps, this app's data is not stored abroad. Vaishnav also stated that Mappls can be integrated into many of the Indian Railways' services, and that an agreement with the Railways may be reached soon. It's worth noting that MapmyIndia, in collaboration with the Indian Post, has launched the digital address system DIGIPIN. It generates a unique digital code for every 3.8 square blocks in the country, making it easier to locate any location on the map.
