India’s World Cup-winning stars have headlined the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup ' Team of the Tournament', with Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma earning well-deserved spots in the best XI announced on Tuesday.

The trio were central to India’s maiden World Cup triumph, which culminated in a 52-run victory over South Africa in Sunday’s final — a win that sealed a landmark moment in Indian women’s cricket.

Runners-up South Africa also saw three players make the cut, led by captain Laura Wolvaardt, who was named skipper of the ICC Team of the Tournament. Wolvaardt topped the batting charts with a record-breaking 571 runs at an average of 71.37 — the highest tally in a single edition of the Women’s World Cup.

Australia, semifinalists in the competition, contributed three names — all-rounders Annabel Sutherland and Ash Gardner, along with leg-spinner Alana King. Pakistan’s Sidra Nawaz was the lone player from a non-semi-finalist team to feature in the XI as wicketkeeper. England’s Sophie Ecclestone also earned a place for her standout performances, while compatriot Nat Sciver-Brunt was picked as the 12th player.

Mandhana, India’s dependable opener, enjoyed a prolific tournament with 434 runs at an average of 54.25, including a century and two fifties. Her fluent 109 against New Zealand and back-to-back knocks of 80 and 88 versus Australia and England underlined her form and temperament on the big stage.

Jemimah Rodrigues, anchoring the Indian middle order, scored 292 runs at an average of 58.40. Her unbeaten 127 against Australia in the semifinal was among the tournament’s standout innings, while an unbeaten 76 versus New Zealand proved crucial in India’s march to the knockouts.

Deepti Sharma emerged as India’s most valuable player — and was rightfully named the Player of the Tournament. The all-rounder scored 215 runs, including a century, and topped the bowling charts with 22 wickets at an average of 20.40. Her match-winning 5/39 and vital 58 with the bat in the final against South Africa capped a phenomenal all-round campaign.
