New Delhi: BSP supremo Mayawati hit the restart button in her political journey at Kanshi Ram's memorial rally by going soft on BJP and slamming Samajwadi Party and asserting that would fight the 2027 assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh on its own.
Addressing a rally on Kanshi Ram's memorial, she indicated her intention to come out of the political hibernation she had chosen to bury herself in for some time.
Mayawati hailed BJP's UP government for keeping the promise to observe the Kanshi Ram memorial.
"I wrote a letter to the chief minister requesting that the ticket money collected from visitors be used for maintenance. The BJP government assured us that this money would be used only for upkeep and they did so. For this, our party is thankful to them," she said, thanking Adityanath.
Though Mayawati praised the UP government, she hit out at the party's government in the Centre for "framing" her and her family members in corruption cases.
She also hit out at the SP and Akhilesh Yadav for allegedly neglecting Dalit memorials during their tenure and for keeping the funds collected from the tickets.
Calling the SP "two-faced", she alleged that several initiatives launched by the BSP in Kanshi Ram's name were shut down by the Akhilesh Yadav government.
Taking on the SP over its PDA (Pichde, Dalit and Alpsankhya) slogan when it was in power, she said the party neither remembers PDA, nor the saints, gurus, and great personalities associated with it.
The five-time former CM made it clear that BSP would not forge any alliance for the 2027 assembly polls. She said BSP never benefited from such alliances as it ensures transfer of its vote base to its allies, but its allies' caste base never benefited the BSP.
In the past, BSP had allied with BJP, SP and Congress -- all significant players in UPs.
