Biggest Animated Hit! Mahavatar Narsimha Beats Ajay Devgn's Son Of Sardaar 2 At Box Office

The animated film Mahavatar Narsimha which opened to just Rs 1.35 crore on day one in Hindi has turned out to be a historic box office success in India.

Despite the release of two new Hindi films — Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2, Mahavatar Narsimha collected Rs 5.30 crore on day 8 i.e. second Friday and on second Saturday i.e. day 9, the film has witnessed unprecedented and unheard of growth as it collected in the range of Rs 11 crore.

This makes it the biggest day ever for the animated film at the box office ever since its release on July 25, 2025, and now it is all set to have another insane jump on its second Sunday i.e. day 10.

Mahavatar Narsimha Beats Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

Mahavatar Narsimha has now hit Rs 50 crore at the box office just from its Hindi version alone. Adding the biz from Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam versions, the 10-day box office of Mahavatar Narsimha stands at Rs 72 crore approx.

This makes itthe top grossing animated film in India beating Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse.

Mahavatar Narsimha Day 9 Is Bigger Than Son Of Sardaar 2 Day 2

The animated film has also achieved the unthinkable with that insane box office jump in the second week.

It has now taken down the big Hindi release of the week, Ajay Devgn starrer Son of Sardaar 2. The comedy sequel witnessed a muted growth on day two and collected a poor Rs 7.50 crore as compared to Mahavatar Narsimha’s Rs 11 crore day 9 in Hindi.

This means the audiences have preferred a week old animated film over a new sequel to a hit action comedy starring a superstar.
