On 15th August, Delhi Metro services will start from 4 am. Those who have a valid invitation letter from the Ministry of Defense will get free metro tickets. Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Delhi Gate stations are the nearest.
This country is celebrating its 79th Independence Day on 15th August this year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the flag and address the nation at the main function to be held at the Red Fort in the capital Delhi on this day. On this occasion, thousands of people gather at the fort, including many school children, government officials and common citizens. In such a situation, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has made special arrangements keeping in mind the convenience and safety of the passengers. The special thing is that some guests attending the function will also get the facility of free travel in the metro on this day.
Metro services will run from 4 am
On 15th August, services on all metro lines will start from 4 am before normal days. During the first 2 hours, i.e. between 4 am and 6 am, trains will run every 30 minutes. Whereas after that, the normal timetable will be applicable for the whole day.
Invitation card holders will get free travel facility
DMRC has provided special facility for those attending the main function organized at Red Fort. Guests holding valid invitation cards issued by the Ministry of Defense will be provided tax codes for free travel. The Defense Ministry will bear the cost of these tickets. By taking advantage of this facility, guests will be able to easily reach the venue and also return.
Which stations will be convenient
Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Delhi Gate Metro Station are the closest to the venue. People coming to the function have been advised to use these stations. Apart from this, security has been tightened at all metro stations and IGI Airport.
Advice for passengers
CISF and DMRC have appealed to the passengers to reach the station before time and cooperate in the security check. Along with this, due to the function, there will be travel restrictions on many nearby routes. Therefore, it is important to get information about the route before travelling.
